Randalph's Thugs, the Snowmen

Miniatures by Reaper Miniatures

Randalph the Red Nosed Reindeer, who was previously featured in this post, has more than just his Christmas Gremlins (featured in this post) as members of his gang.

Jonas (left), Fredric (center) and Carl (right), the Frosty Brothers

There are also the Frosty Brothers, Jonas, Fredric and Carl who head up a troop of gangster snowman.

They were originally based for another game. Given that they will now be used for role playing, I need to re-base the brothers before the next game.

Group shot. Randalph, the Frosty Brothers, and the Christmas Gremlins

I think these miniatures are by Ral Partha Europe

And here's the rest of the Frosty Gang, just finished. These lads animated by their magical hats. Loose the hat and they become just a normal snowman.

To provide variety of pose, I bent the arms and affixed them at different angles. That simple method made each model more unique, threatening and in motion.

Yes, they are wearing the latest in neck tie fashion

Timber Wolves

I needed some wolves for our role playing game. Fortunately I have had these wolves from Iron Wind Metals (Chaos Wars and their other ranges) and one or two from Reaper Miniatures. So finally got off my backside to paint them. So thought I would share these. Enjoy!

Reaper Christmas Gremlins

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Reaper Miniatures Gremlins

These little blighters are Gremlins from Reaper Miniatures. I've painted them up in Christmas colours as they will be part of a Christmas themed scenario for my role playing group. Late, I know, but as we meet once a month to play they had to finish the scenario they were currently going through before this one can be played out.

The big dude with the antlers I'll discuss in a future post.

We are playing a grim dark D20 style game so these critters have stats that match that setting. I can share them here as my role playing group doesn't read my blog, fortunately.

CHRISTMAS GREMLINS

Defense - 14                                Long Dagger - +0 to hit, 1D6 damage (aver. 4, 5), type = Puncturing
Armour - 1 point soft leather      Claws (x2) - +0 to hit, 1D3 damage (av. 3, 4), type = Slashing
Hit Points - 2

Attributes
Physical - +0 (STR, CON, DEX)
Mental - +1 (INT, WIS, CHA)

Magic (+4 to cast)
Invisibility

* Gremlins attack in groups, half will go invisible while the other half will use their Magic Missile in the first round of combat.
* Invisible Gremlins will sneak up on their opponents and attempt to back stab them while the other Gremlins, after casting Magic Missile, will go Invisible in the second round of combat.
* Gremlins engaged in melee combat will then be supported by other Gremlins who will use their Frostbite to attack and slow down their opponents.

Reaper miniatures Orcs

These lads are all from Reaper Miniatures. The one on the right I have shown off in a previous post. However after leaving them half painted for nearly a year now I finally decided to finish off the rest. So here they are.

Being from the Reaper Bones line, I varied the standard sword orc model by carefully cutting the hands off the mini's, then positioning them so that the weapons were at different angles. I varied the battleaxe models by positioning the ax heads. This provided enough variety to the models to make them distinct enough from each other on the table.

I still need to do some tidying up with them, painting the eyes and applying blood stains to the weapons. But, after a year, they can finally hit the table. These guys will predominantly be used for role playing, but will also make a nice berserker unit for Dragon Rampant or Kings of War.

Zombies!!!

Painted these Mantic Games Kings of War zombies a few months back but never got around to showing them off. Until now!

I've based them for use both on the battle table and for role playing games. They fit into a slotted base for when I'm playing Kings of War, Chaos Wars or Dragon Rampant. But they are also set to be used for role playing.
