Star Fleet Universe Champaine Map (Federation & Empire)

The full campaign map

Way in the distant past of this blog, I showed off the campaign map I had made for fighting battles in the Star Fleet Universe (using A Call To Arms and Starmada rule sets). I had used highlighters to colour the borders for each of the major empires. However, over time, those highlighters faded. Recently I decided to get some acrylic paints and repaint all the borders again. Voila! Good as new. So, I decided to show it off again. All the counters are from the Federation & Empire game from Amarillo Design Bureau.

The Cardassian Union bounded in yellow

I still have to make some counters for the Cardassian's, Ferengi and the Breen. But you can see Bajor and the Wormhole in hex's 3104 and 3204 above. Each hex is regarded as a Sector on the map. The Badlands can also be seen in sectors 3103, 3202 & 3203. The Ferengi Alliance is visible in purple around sector 3201.

The Breen Confederacy

The Kzinti Hegemony

The Wyn Radiation Zone Nebula and the LDR

The Lyran Star Empire

The Hydran Kingdoms

The Klingon Empire towards the galactic centre

The Klingon Empire towards the outer rim (with an orange nebula)

The Klingon Empire towards the Tholian border

Q'onoS, the Klingon Homeworld can be seen in Sector 3227 above.

The Tholian Holdfast

The region of The Triangle sandwiched between Klingon, Tholian, Federation and Romulan space

Romulan rimward expanse

Romulan home territories

Romulus and Remus can be seen in sectors 1720 and 1819 above. The astute reader will note that this area of the map reflects the border map seen in the original series.

Romulan far territories and unexplored reaches

The Gorn Confederation

The United Federation of Planets

The Typhon Expanse towards the galactic centre

The Kzinti & Cardassian borders

Part of the Klingon border

Along the Klingon border

You might note some familiar system names hidden in these areas.

The Orion Nebula

Along the Romulan border

Further along the Romulan border

The Gorn border

Furthest patrol area back towards the Typhon Expanse

The UFP founding planetary home worlds

Some systems of note within the UFP

More systems of note within the UFP

A very famous system along the border of the UFP

The far stars, unexplored space

More unexplored space outside the Romulan Star Empire

One map border

The other map border

Each counter represents either a ship or patrol group for purposes of the campaign, rather than being used as the Federation & Empire ruleset. But the map is also meant to be able to be played using Federation & Empire. There are a lot more counters to make. The whole thing is magnetic and so the counters have magnets on them as well. I have two sets of Federation & Empire for this purpose.

So, there you go!

Lyran Panther Light Cruisers

Two posts today lucky reader. The first is showing the colour scheme I've used for my Lyran Light Cruisers. This model is from Amarillo Design Bureau and can be found here.

This may just become the colour scheme for the rest of my Lyran fleet!

Lyran Tiger Heavy Cruiser

ADB Lyran Tiger Heavy Cruiser

I've wanted to get some Lyran ships ever since I first played Star Fleet Battles (back when Noah was a lad!). I've always liked the Lyrans since first playing them in SFB and when these miniatures started to appear they quickly made it on to my wish list. However its taken years before I finally bought some. This is the Amarillo Design Bureau's Lyran Tiger Heavy Cruiser which you can find here.

The first Lyran I wanted to paint would be the flag ship for the fleet. So I painted up a Tiger Heavy Cruiser with a unique colour scheme compared to the rest of the ships that will make up my Lyran fleet (more on them another day). My intent being that this would be a Command Cruiser and I would use a Lyran Dreadnought for the fleet command ship.

So here is my first Lyran. Still not sold on the colour scheme but I'm unlikely to change it now. Anyway, its been a very long time in the making but the Lyran Star Empire is finally coming to my table top.
