Randalph's Thugs, the Snowmen

Miniatures by Reaper Miniatures

Randalph the Red Nosed Reindeer, who was previously featured in this post, has more than just his Christmas Gremlins (featured in this post) as members of his gang.

Jonas (left), Fredric (center) and Carl (right), the Frosty Brothers

There are also the Frosty Brothers, Jonas, Fredric and Carl who head up a troop of gangster snowman.

They were originally based for another game. Given that they will now be used for role playing, I need to re-base the brothers before the next game.

Group shot. Randalph, the Frosty Brothers, and the Christmas Gremlins

I think these miniatures are by Ral Partha Europe

And here's the rest of the Frosty Gang, just finished. These lads animated by their magical hats. Loose the hat and they become just a normal snowman.

To provide variety of pose, I bent the arms and affixed them at different angles. That simple method made each model more unique, threatening and in motion.

Yes, they are wearing the latest in neck tie fashion

Timber Wolves

I needed some wolves for our role playing game. Fortunately I have had these wolves from Iron Wind Metals (Chaos Wars and their other ranges) and one or two from Reaper Miniatures. So finally got off my backside to paint them. So thought I would share these. Enjoy!

Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals Skeleton Levy w spear (model no 02-744)

Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals Skeleton Levy w spear_model no 02-744

One of the projects that I have slowly ticking away on the painting table is building a Kings of War undead army for use with both KoW and also Ral Partha's fantasy miniatures rules. For that army, I wanted a core troop set of skeleton spearmen. Looking at the Iron Wind Metals website, I noted that they had the type of miniature I was after, but there were no images that I could find to their Skeleton Levy with spear. Taking a punt, I bought enough to make a unit or two and thought I would post an image or two of this mini for reference.

Painting the mini was fairly simple. I base coated it in White spray, then once dry, painted the spear in terracotta and the spear tip in bronze. I then dipped the mini in Army Painter Strong Tone shader. Easy as that.

Once dry, the eyes were painted with a dip of Teclis Blue and when dry, another drop of White.

Here's a bunch more images for reference. Enjoy!

Ral Partha's Chaos Wars Dwarf, Undead, Troglodyte Miniatures by Iron Wind Metals Company

Painted Dwarf & Undead Armies

From the Chaos Wars No.2 Kickstarter, an update by Iron Wind Metals

We took some more photos of the painted minis last night.

Feel free to share these images, specifically if it will help introduce people to the project.

The nostalgia that I feel for this game is hard not to contain. I feel like I did when a friend and I used to go into the city, to the Tin Soldier shop, and browse through all the excellent miniatures there. I would scrape my savings for weeks and then make the special trip to buy just a packet of these beauties, goblins especially. Now, with a family of my own, I'm really looking forward to introducing this game the my kids. Priceless.
