Star Fleet Tug!
Amarillo Design Bureau have a Federation Tug in the 2400 series of miniatures. But I was after something a little more detailed. I like the look of their Command Cruiser saucer and bought some time back their Heavy Cruiser miniature. So I decided to play around a little with the miniature bits to make something I was after.
Cargo pod by Studio Bergstrom miniatures
I wanted to have a nice looking cargo pod as well and the best I have seen in the 1:3788 (2400 series) scale is from Studio Bergstrom's Irrational Designs range.

So using very small rare earth magnets and super glue, and the odd four letter word, I played around with the miniatures and hacked up the heavy cruiser's secondary hull to make a scratch build tug.

I still need to play around a little with the reflector dish arrangement to complete to model. Truth be told, I should have been less zealous when I was clipping the secondary hull of the heavy cruiser. Still lesson learnt.
I have base coated the model and begun preliminary painting so I'll add another post on the final result when its done. I hope to find other pods I can add to this beasty so that it can have a variety of cargo, transport and combat configurations on the table. The search is on!
