EB-GB and CHI-P3O

Taking a break from Zona Alfa, I need to finish some mini's for a forthcoming roleplaying adventure for Orc Borg. We will be using my homegrown d20 rules but playing in the Orc Borg setting. The group is most familiar with my d20-lite ruleset, and it brings much mirth to the table whenever a Natual 20 or a Natural 1 are rolled. So, we will be sticking with that whilst playing in the Orc Borg sandbox.

The lads will of course be playing as Space Orcs (or Orks for 40K fans). So, I'm going to put together some miniatures with magnetised arms so that as they find gear and weapons, I can swap these out on their models. But for the adventure I want them to encounter two NPC robots. An astromech and a protocol droid. I have C-3PO and R2-D2 from both the Star Wars Imperial Assault and the Star Wars Legion games. The Imperial Assault models aren't as nice quality as their Legion counterparts and so the actual 3PO and R2 will be made from the Legion's miniatures.

So, what to do with the Imperial Assault models? Entre EB-GB and CHI-P3O (read that as "Chi-peo"). These two will be on the Roter Zwerg in the Visitor Centre and be the first NPC's the Boyz encounter upon getting into the Zwerg. They will act to provide some insightful, but otherwise useless, background information on the Zwerg to the Boyz. Maybe EB-GB can open a door here and there after the Boyz spend a round or two trying to break the thing down. But other than that, they will just be providing levity and being a general annoyance to the players.

I've painted EB in the vein of R4 and the 3PO as a silver version of C-3PO as seen in the background of the first Star Wars movie when we first meet 3PO and R2. Now they are ready for the table. On to the next lot of miniatures.

The Bandit Faction for Zona Alfa

Just a quick post today to show off the Bandit Faction for Zona Alfa all together. I still have to finish their leader and I have a group of character type Bandits to also finish off. But the leader will be the next bandit I really need to finish so I can run the scenario I've been working on for Zona Alfa.

I also have some more Soldier Zombies to finish off. So must get on with the painting.

Bandit crew for Zona Alfa - part 2

This post focuses on the second part to my Bandit Faction for Zona Alfa. These lads come from 1st Corps as part of their Internal Security Operations group. These are the same miniatures as the miniatures you can see in my Rookie Stalkers for Zona Alfa post. The link in that post is broken now due to the site failure 1st Corps suffered recently. However, the link above will take you to the same mini's.

For the Rookies I added backpacks. The Bandits come as you would buy them. Again, I have tried to stick to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game colour palate for bandits.

Now all I need is to finish painting off the Bandit Leader.

Bandit crew for Zona Alfa

These lads are from 1st Corps as part of their 28mm International Operations range. I thought they had the aesthetic of the Bandits from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game franchise and so would make a nice addition to my Zona Alfa range on miniatures.

I've tried to be faithful to the colour scheme of the bandit faction in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and changed a few weapons from the more futuristic ones they come with to 20th Century weapons. All in all, I like how they have turned out and am currently painting some more.

Off to search the factory to see if it will make a good base for robbing STALKERs

Once I've finished the other bandits, I'll post about them. I also am working on some bandit characters for leader and veteran miniatures as upgrades for these rookies. So, expect some posts on that down the road.

Soldier Zombies for Zona Alfa

Fresh from the Brain Scorcher, these Soldier Zombies are from the Zombicide game and are just what I needed for the soldiers that survived the first Zone Emission.

The second batch are on the way.
