My hoard of Warmaster Mercenary Ogres is finally completed and on the battle field!
A blog about my wargaming in Middle-earth, the Old World and some other far away places across the void, with Grand Scale 10mm (and some 15mm) miniatures using the Warmaster, Blitzkrieg Commander, Cold War Commander, Future War Commander and GW's The War of the Ring (and some other ) rule systems. Oh, and there might be the odd post about roleplaying and board games here and there. So all the usual geeky stuff we are so proud of!
My hoard of Warmaster Mercenary Ogres is finally completed and on the battle field!
I just wanted to highlight the excellent YouTube channel DM's Craft. Linked above is one of his videos on making trees for roleplaying using a BBQ stick, paper towel, dunny paper and white glue (PVA glue). Below is one of mine that I made following DM Scotty's process.
Only point I would add, is that it does take some time to complete as you wait for stuff to dry. If, like me, you've also made the trees a little too tall or leaning, you can also hot glue a flat washer to the based of the tree.
I've been doing a few other DM's Craft projects as well, which I'll show off in future blog posts.
Here's another one of an upcoming D&D adventure. This dude is a now OOP GW Tomb Kings Lich Priest.
Next project...
I'll be running soon the Dungeon Crawl Classic adventure Shadow under Devils Reef. Albeit with a bunch of changes.
My version will be including a few little extra surprises such as Anglers. These blighters are inspired by the Fallout 4 Far Harbour DLC but I needed a suitable miniature. Casting around my unpainted pile of shame, I found these Reaper Miniatures Tiik Warriors that fitted the bill to a tee!
The Angler's bioluminescent light was achieved by using a darker yellow built up with two successive lighter yellow colours as I approached the tip of the light. The coral base is made from Deer Moss broken up to look like dried coral.
Should be fun when the players get onto the Royal Dawn wreck and then look out across the angry surf to see these things emerging from the waves below them!
There are three different sculpts, two of which are near identical. However, being metal, you can bend their limbs to provide a good variety of poses. This one is mounted on a 40mm base. Time to paint some more.
Dark Sword make some very nice miniatures and this Elf Maiden is no exception. I wanted to find another miniature to be the avatar for one of my players' character for D&D. The miniature I was currently using wasn't the best sculpt.
I was trolling through Magister Militum's web page and found this beauty to add to the collection. Definitely going to get more Dark Sword miniatures. Great sculpts.
In keeping with the theme of nasty things in the water, here is my Watcher in the Water.
