Fallout Vault in MDF

Years ago, I backed on Kickstarter a gentleman from my country (BPLaser) who was making vault like terrain in MDF. I've never had the opportunity to use that terrain until the players in my home brew d20 game of Fallout entered a Vault as part of their most recent adventure. Here are the images, in rough order, from that game session as they explored, and they uncovered a "nest" of Feral Ghouls.

Unfortunately, I never got the chance to paint these before use. So, you'll just have to enjoy their rustic goodness.

"Greetings, Sir. My name is Codswallop."

Improvisation... I need a goods lift!

In the medical bay, they picked up a rather strange little fellow whom they awakened from cryosleep. They also found a nice suit of unique Power Armour (this one curtesy of Brother Vinni's Miniatures)

Ug! Ferral Ghouls...

Surprise! Have a Glowing One...

With the exception of the Fallout Wasteland Warfare Glowing One and Mr Handy, the other miniatures have been highlighted before in previous posts and are from Zombicide, Icarus, Brother Vinni's Miniatures and the Princes Bridge Boardgame.

Fallout Wasteland Warfare Glowing One

Finished off a Ferral Ghoul Glowing One for the Fallout d20 home brew game I run. I purchased the clear version from Modiphius Games and painted up the base to look like the ground was reflecting radiated light from the Glowing One.

I like how it turned out. The sludge from the drums is GW Nurgles Rot technical paint.

The Death of Clappy

Well, it had to happen. NPC's in the roleplaying games I run tend to have short lifespans. This is mostly because the players don't take good care of them. When it comes to OH&S on the worksite, my players have a policy of "meh, easily replaceable."

And so let us pause for a short moment to remember Clappy. He was with us just such a short time. And I only just finished the paint job the day of the game! But the players have a habit of opening doors in underground facilities without bothering to have a listed first.

And these doors opened into an underground cafeteria where two sentry guns had been placed. Reflex rolls all round saved the PC's as they all dived for the dirt. But not so for poor Clappy. Diving isn't something he can realistically achieve, and he soon became a pin cushion for 5mm bullets from both guns. A perfectly executed throw of a grenade (by rolling a Natural 20 on the die-roll!) put the offending sentry guns out of action, but sadly, not before Clappy lay silent on the floor, oil leaking from many holes across his lifeless robot body.

Oh well. Plenty more Clap-trap units where that one came from. At least the team was able to salvage some 5mm ammo from the sentry gun husks. I'll show you where they ended up next in a future post.

Eaglemoss Vertibird for Fallout Wasteland Warfare and RPG's

So how does the Eaglemoss Fallout 4 Vertibird stack up for use in either Fallout Wasteland Warfare or for roleplaying games? Here's a few photos from my role-playing groups most recent outing to give you some idea.

In this encounter, our intrepid heroes finally meet up at a crashed vertibird that's been lying in state since the day the bombs fell. A set of old power amour stands near the tail where it was released from the aircraft. Sadly, for our PC's they don't have a fusion core to power the armour and so can't use it.

Shortly after meeting up, the PC's were assaulted by Bloatflies and their adventure was off to a start, 10mm pistols a blazing.

These lads are from the now defunct Icarus Miniatures

Power Armour from Fallout Wasteland Warfare

So, you can see that the vertibird is slightly on the small side for the 28 - 32mm scale. But it does make a good scene prop for roleplaying and Fallout Wasteland Warfare.

Miniatures are by (left to right) Armorcast, Princess Bride Boardgame, Icarus Miniatures
