Making a Mad Max V8 Interceptor for Gaslands

 From this...

To this...

Matchbox Hot Wheels make a V8 interceptor based on the Mad Max movies. However, I wanted one that looked more like the vehicle from the Xbox Mad Max Fury Road video game. So, I decided to do some modifications.

You can see the work in progress below and the final version. I used the Gaslands 20mm Interceptor Driver available from North Star Miniatures as the driver, cutting the shotgun arm from the standing figure and swapping it with the seated figure. Added some plating for Chumbucket (yet to be painted) to stand on and a fuel can (which you can keep in the back of the vehicle in the game). I added some wheel spikes and used a piece of a toothpick to create a bar for Chumbucket to hold on to. I also added a ram bar and exhaust pipes to the vehicle, as well as the engine block and removed the windscreen.

I had to drill a hole in the metal plate for the cars metal bar to pass through.

I like how this has turned out. Just need to make a Chumbucket for it now.

Fallout - Pool of Death

Hope you had a wonderful and restful Easter break. I managed for finish off my next bit of scenery for Fallout and This Is Not A Test. That of the Pool of Death!

This is an MDF terrain piece from Sarissa Precision, from the Retro Americana line. You can find it here. I decided to mount mine on a larger MDF board so as to add some putty "dirt" around it. I have also used clear resin (rather than the plastic strip that comes with the terrain) to simulate the water. The skeletons I added myself and then painted the thing to look like it's been rather neglected since the bombs fell.

Now, on to the next bit of scenery.

Happy Easter, 2023

HAPPY EASTER !

May you have a safe and restful Easter break.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NIV)

14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

First vehicle for Gaslands

I am a late adopter of the Gaslands Refuelled game. Having played Car Wars years ago in my old gaming group I've returned to that oldy (but a goody) and never really had time to look into Gaslands Refuelled. Given the Post Apocalyptic gaming my role-playing group has been doing of late, I decided to pick up a copy of the Gaslands rules. Well, kick me for never looking into this before. I am not getting some vehicles ready for a playthrough that will be a Mad Max Fury Road style dash across the landscape. More on that later. But here is one of the first conversions I have done.

This is a Hotwheels model that I added a turret and spiked wheels off of a Epic 40K Ork tank. It's a simple conversion that was more to see "if I can" rather than to a set plan. I have yet to do any real vehicle design as per the rules. But the car turned out fine for a first try.
