Scratch-built farmstead for Fallout

One of the scenarios for our homegrown Fallout d20 game was to take place at a farmstead where the player characters, acting as security of their merchant friend Roger, were to make a nasty discovery. So, I needed to make a rather ramshackle farmstead building and fences. This is the result. I have shown off the sentry posts in a previous post. This is the entire farm set out to see how it would look for the game as I experimented with how the fences, building and sentry posts would best be set up. I'll do another post on what happened in that game in the future.

The building was made with balsa wood blocks and the corrugated iron walls and roof were made from cardboard disposable coffee cup holders. I just used a hot glue gun and some PVA glue here and there to fix it all together. Worked out pretty well I feel.

Scratch-built Fallout Wasteland Warfare Sentry Posts

In both large size...

...and small

I wanted some sentry posts for the tabletop and especially for our homegrown Fallout d20 game. I'll post about the farm defence scenario another time that I recently ran for my roleplaying group, but they needed some sentry posts to fend off attacks to the farm they were staying at. So, I decided, why not make some myself?

A little hot-gun glue and some roughly cut-up tongue depressors later and voila! Senty posts!

I sprayed them down with some outdoor furniture brown spray and they look at home in the Wasteland. The tongue depressors cost a few bucks and so did the hot-gun and glue. So cheap to build and looks fine on the tabletop. And it wouldn't look too out of place in the Wasteland of the Commonwealth from Fallout 4.

Moooo-tant Brahman

Just a quick post today. Just finished the pack brahman for use in our Fallout homegrown d20 game over the weekend. So thought I'd post some photos of it.

This is Molly and Mildred, Roger Bannister's pack brahman. The mini is from the Fallout Wasteland Warfare tabletop game by Modiphius Entertainment.

Hit markers for Lazar Criticals

I wanted some Critical Hit markers for lazar damage for my homegrown Fallout Skirmish Game and decided to make them myself rather than buy something.

In my homegrown rules, when a critical is scored against an opponent, if that opponent is a minion, then they are burned to ash instantly. No mercy there! The critical marker is placed where the minion model was and effectively becomes a loot token that can be snatched up by the first model to touch base with the marker. If the minion had any equipment, then that would be in the marker and can therefore be taken by the model for use next game. But the model would need to get that token off their edge of the table to salvage it.

I'm also tossing up the idea that for Companions and Lone Wonderer's, when a critical is scored against the model, their player must immediately make a Luck roll against a set target number. If roll is a failure, then the model is instantly turned to ash also. Nasty! But could be fun in a campaign setting.

These were made by adding sand to a 25mm round base and painting it accordingly. I have also experimented with a blue Plasma Critical Marker (I'll show that off sometime) and guts for a melee or ballistic critical hit markers. I'm still experimenting with the idea but does look like it could prove to be an interesting one.

As it's for a skirmish game, five markers should prove to be sufficient enough for the table. I haven't scored a Critical with a lazar weapon yet. So, I haven't seen this play out in the game testing as yet.
